It's a conspiracy...oh dear god not again

yesterday i talked about my dislike of the idea that Bob Marley is an incredible inspiration in everything he does.  Today he will feature again but not anywhere near as heavily.  Today I want to talk about conspiracy theories.

ENTRY 2

In life there are always going to be people who aren't satisfied with what they are being told, there could be a number of different reasons for this dissatisfaction and many of them are fair enough.  Personally i myself believe in one conspiracy theory and that is the conspiracy theory surrounding the assassination of JFK.  The problem i have with conspiracy theories however is that there is always going to be one in pretty much every major news story.  Some of them, though not many, are well founded and have plenty of evidence, such as the theory that Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill President Kennedy, but then there are the hundreds which have no real evidence and are there only to either confuse matters or because people believe that the government are plotting against us all as is the case in so many of these foolish theories.  I'm going to give a few examples of theories that really annoy me as well as explaining why they annoy me so much in a more specific sense.  So here goes...

Theory 1

theory 1 is the theory surrounding the death of Bob Marley.  To be quite honest i wasn't actually aware of this conspiracy theory until last night when i quickly researched some facts surrounding Marley's death out of sheer interest.  Bob Marley died of cancer which started in his toe and was first brought to light after a football (soccer in america) injury didn't get better.  Marley could have been treated by amputating his toe which although would have physically changed him it would have saved his life.  He refused this treatment on religious grounds as his religion forbade him from physically altering his body.  Eventually he did accept a skin graft although still refused amputation.  This was not the theory though this was the facts.  The theory came when conspiracy theorists began to claim that Marley's football boots, supposedly given to him as a gift by a CIA operative, had a hidden radioactive wire inside them which caused the cancer in his toe.  This theory is dicussed in much greater detail in an article found at this link http://worldmusic.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=worldmusic&cdn=entertainment&tm=224&f=10&su=p284.13.342.ip_&tt=12&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//hightimes.com/lounge/ht_admin/6951  The information in this article however is highly debatable which can be seen by some of the comments at the end of it.  Personally i find this entire theory ludicrous and highly doubt that the CIA would murder anybody by giving them cancer.  Marley was, according to these theorists, murdered in order to silence him.  But if that were really the case then why would they kill him in a way which would take so long instead of just shooting him?

Theory 2

the second theory is one that personally i am sickened by.  It regards the Aurora shootings in which a gunman, who shall never be named on this blog as i don't believe he should be remembered in anyway and by giving him no name he is easier to forget, killed 12 people and injured many more when he entered the theater hall in which the dark knight rises was playing.  The theory behind this one is that the man who was arrested at the scene of the crime sis not the right man.  This is despite the numerous people who saw him and could verify that the same man is in court for his sick crime and the fact that he was arrested AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME.  the theory started because of an image which shows the gun mans ear on the left of his face in an old photo and compares how much it sticks out to his right ear in his mug shot.  The person who created this photo clearly failed to notice that in the mug shot he is actually leaning his head slightly making his right ear ever so slightly more prudent.  the picture also looks at his nose which does admittedly look different although there could be numerous reasons for this such as drug use or facial reconstruction.  the thing that annoys me most about this subject though is that people would even dare give this man the time of day never mind their sympathies.
